Photo contest · Dak'Art Biennale 2024
Celebrating the essential role of Senegalese women in food security, collective well-being and the protection of the environment.
In autumn 2024, dozens of amateur photographers took part in the contest, on the theme of the role of Senegalese women in agriculture, food and the preservation of natural resources.
Organised by DyTAES with the support of the ARTS and AgroVoices projects, the contest was part of the Yaay Dund - Regenerating the Living Expo-Event, presented at the Dak'Art 2024 Biennale of contemporary art.
The contest was open to any resident of Senegal aged 10 and over, with women and young girls especially encouraged to take part. Photos could be accompanied by a text written in the photographer's chosen language - Wolof, French, English or other - and translated by the jury.
